1. How is a wooden card made?
Relevant Cards wooden cards are crafted from birch wood sourced from FSC-certified partners, ensuring it comes from sustainably managed forests. The cards are printed, personalized, and cut at our production site in France. To enhance durability, a layer of varnish can be applied—preserving the card’s unique and authentic wooden appearance.
2. What elements can be customized on a wooden card?
Every wooden card can be tailored down to the smallest detail to reflect your brand identity. We offer full customization: full-color (CMYK) double-sided printing, custom finishes, embedded technologies (NFC chip, RFID, magnetic stripe, EMV, barcode), and eco-designed sleeves or packaging.
Our team supports you throughout the process to deliver a unique, functional card aligned with your brand and business use cases.
3. How many cards can I order, and what are the lead times?
We accommodate all order sizes—from small batches (a few dozen cards) to large-scale productions (several thousand cards). Lead times depend on volume and customization complexity. Our team works with you to determine the optimal quantity, schedule, and budget.
4. How durable are wooden cards? Are they waterproof?
Our wooden cards are designed to last and withstand daily use. They go through bending and twisting tests conducted by our R&D team to ensure durability and reliability. Birch wood, combined with a refined finish and optional protective varnish, offers excellent resistance while maintaining a natural, elegant look.
Please note: Wooden cards are not waterproof. We advise against exposing them to water. For humidity-resistant applications, PVC cards are a better choice. We can also assist you with this.
5. Are wooden cards more expensive than plastic ones?
Wooden cards are slightly more expensive than standard plastic cards due to the use of sustainable materials, FSC-certified wood, and high-level customization. However, the added value is significant: durability, elegance, originality, and a lower environmental footprint.
